Nancy Hadley - The Scenic Artist and Muralist form Extreme Makeover Home Edition
Nancy Hadley - Last year's version
The view from the cutting room floor... Sometimes, as everybody who works in TV knows, your best work ends up not making it on to the finished product, and it has
never been more true than in Austin, home of the rare Texas Ostrich. The nicest thing about visiting a state multiple times is that you end up with a dream team,
like Lee, Lloyd, and Bryan. First up, two pictures of a mural from the trampoline room, which did not make the show, but did make the house. Thanks Nellie for your
help and support.  The third picture s for a little boy who loves MASH, of all things. Next, Ty's popular penguins, where Nancy did a fade in the paint from lavender to
white. Karl, you made the mountains work, not to mention the cool Greek temple bookshelf; Nancy could not have done it without you. And last, EMHE's own little
love story. Congrats to Fireman Jim, EMHE volunteer, and Michelle, retired design producer.
Art world, where they put the Extreme in Extreme Makeover. In the second picture is the genius behind Art World, Big D, and his son, who we will call Little D.
The third picture is Nancy with her husband's favorite cousin, as well as some guy who is apparently the roadie for Motley Crue circa 1987. Last, a couple from
the house in Tampa. First up is the alligator camouflage room, designed by Ty and brought to life by Nancy with the considerable assistance of Leslie,
Melissa, Christine, Christopher, Jeff, Chris and many others...that is exactly as much work as it looks like. Second, from the lounge room, painted by an
incredible team of volunteer artists, especially Jeff and Chris. We had to paint these rooms and the striped and faux walls faster than most houses.  A truly
incredible team!
Welcome to Waleska Georgia, the home of the Tipton Smith family, and the memory of their son. As a person directly touched by organ donation, Nancy  was proud to
be a part of this project. Three images from the Tinkerbell piano room, . First is the original Tinkerbell. Nancy drew it up, Eric cut it out, and Nancy painted it, so it could
watch down. Then Nancy  painted Emily as Tinkerbell, as she has done for client's daughters in the past. The next two are images from the theater, including a shot of
the director through the looking glass. Last is the MY Boy room, lettered by Dessie...in fact, none of this would have been possible without the considerable
assistance of Elaine, John, Courtney and Dessie. And to the family whose courage loaned Nancy's dad nine more years of life, and gave his grandchildren the
chance to meet him, a heartfelt thank you.
South Carolina...yet another vacation destination that was all about the work. First up is the Spiderman mural, with a hidden bunk bed. Spidey is shooting
a web over a dresser Nancy redesigned and painted to look like a rusty old roof vent. For those of you who are about to inquire, Nancy does not do the
Spiderman mural - Spidey is a licensed Marvel Comics property. Your best bet is to look for the Spiderman wall decals made by Nancy's partner
Sandylion...just click one of the links above and search. Then, in the spirit of March Madness, Nancy's basketball room. Next, a bird, for a little boy who
wanted one. Then there's a rockin' design producer, one of the people who makes life a lot easier for Nancy, and last, what happens when you stick
around EMHE too long... Special thanks for the help from Sarah, her mom, Carla and her amazing painting team.  Thank  you for all your hard work!
Maybe the most badly needed house EMHE has done in the 75+ houses that Nancy has worked on - and truly deserving folks. First up, the tree
headboard. Nancy painted the background so that, when backlit, it would look like sunset. Then the room Nancy cannot show her own girls, the
Cheetah Girls room, with headboard and room accents drawn up by Nancy for a team to cut out and paint for Paige Hemmis. Then, for Eduardo, the
hero mural for a family of heroes, painted by Nancy - can you finish the quote? Last, for Michael Moloney, the most beautiful Psalm. Thanks also to
Gwen who showed up out of the blue to get the garage across the finish line and help light the beautiful photo mural retouched and prepared by our
own infamous Greg Mueth.
A moving house in Lawton, Oklahoma. For Ed Sanders, the volleyball room...and if you looked closely, while Ed was describing what they were doing, there was
Nancy...doing it right alongside him! This technique took two people, and Ed, bad hand and all, made the tool himself. Next, a mural for the Insomniac room. It's
actually wallpaper, from a design created by Insomniac, and hung by Bob, the wallpaper genius. Nancy freehanded it onto the headboard, and extended it after the
wallpaper ran out...see if you can spot the break....and a big thanks to the Insomniac Games guys, particularly Ryan, for making an 11 year old's birthday. The last
two pics are the curtains, with a subtle design painted by Nancy, and, for Tracy Hutson's plaid room, some custom artwork to break up the plaid. Special thanks to
Gene, for making all that paint show up , on time and in the right shades. Nancy could not do her job without you - something that can be said of many many
volunteers.
You, dear internet viewer, have the advantage as you read this, as Nancy has not seen the Arkansas episode yet...the terrible constraints of the year end wrap
party! Nevertheless, here goes. From the paintball room, a view of the splatters, with paintball veteran Vincent manning the assistant paintbrush, as well as
Joyce, Beth, and Rhonda. That's a lot of splatter, so those of you checking from home, just get 4 great volunteers and paint all night. Next, a Native American
homage done at Eduardo's request for Mrs. Collins . The middle pic is one of Nancy's butterflys, a set of 3D pieces of lively color. And last, a set of pictures from
Tanya McQueen's cheerleader room, one of Nancy's favorite's. It was her pleasure to paint them for the girls. Nancy has her own pair of cheerleading
enthusiasts
Levittown was great - a combination of new and old. A big thank you to Chris Russel of Never Ending Rooms - on the Links page - who took a break from being a
new mom -again - to come and help out - again! If you're in that neighborhood, Chris is the right person to paint. And, for the new, how about Fran,  Frannie and
Tori Drummond, who really made the Astronomy room awesome. And yes, we welcome your ring around the collar jokes... From the master, some of Nancy's
dance theme art. And last, the people from Magicquest were so awesome, Nancy had only to pen the finishing touch...
What a lovely family...and the people who came to help showed that KC takes care of their own. The first picture is of the master bedroom with the Mystery
Photographer - and the second one shows how EMHE does it. Thanks to Susan, Angie, Brenda Jean, Sarah, Laura, Lisa, the sisters Christina and Angela, and,
most of all, Julie the paramedic's wife, who drew the whole thing up with Nancy. Next up, the nursery, with a design by Nancy, and 3 Boon animal bags, which are
just amazing. They are awesome if you have kids and they have stuffed animals. Thanks to Lisa who came to the rescue in the 11th hour.  Next, the school of
fashion room, painted and designed by Nancy. Last of all, the horshoe flingin' 'cowboys, Robbie, Shane and Michael, who are the behind the seasons grip and
electric magic.
Finally finished with season 4!   It has been a long haul but an exciting one.  For the Oatman-Gaitin home we built the Nightmare Before Christmas for DJ.  Nancy's
training in exhibit building came in handy in creating the nightmarish treehouse.  For Kevin's track room, Nancy directed the incredible Franny Drummond on a race that
is literally on fire with a nod to EMHE's own Charlie Engle, who just finished running across the Sahara Desert.  That's a photo of Fran Sr., Nancy and Franny Drummond,
an airbrush artist to beat them all.  Next, the soothing Assembly Required room walls for Eduardo Xol. Finally Nancy with her best friend in the world, who drove down
from Canada to help out with Barbara and Bettina, for Ty's master - a cherry blossom inspired wall mural reminiscent of season two.  A special thank you to crew who is
moving on....Big D, Liz , Maggie, John, Alan,  Sabrina, Damiana, Johanna, Jack, Jennifer, Tim, Jenifer, Andy, Kathryn, Adam, Diane, Angela, Sarah, and if I missed anyone
it will occur to me and I will miss you more!  Thanks to the design production team for pulling off another great season!!!! And last but definitely not least, all the incredible
volunteers that showed up just in time to make these homes sooo special and perfect!  You make it possible to make these families' dreams come true!
